Week 76 and 77 - January 16, 2022

What's up everyone?  It's been a super busy and fun past two weeks.  Lots of stuff going on.

We finally were able to have a member go out with us and show us where everyone lives.  The Branch President hasn't really been much help, which is tough, but there are a couple selective people/ families that have helped us a lot.  We went all around the area finding less-active families and finding people that are unbaptized.  There are like 10+ but most of them live far or their families have completely dropped the church.  So, over the next little bit, we will be finding those that are interested in coming back and helping them grow in their testimonies.

Fun story, two weeks ago my comp and I went contacting at night when we passed a big building that sounded like there was a basketball game going on, so we went in and just started shooting around with some kids that were in there. They asked if we wanted to play a little game and we did. Afterwards, they asked us to be on their "team."  We got all the details and turns out that in San Juan there's a big bball tournament going on with like 14 teams haha.  So, we said sure and have played a couple of games with these 14-17-year old kids that are still learning how to play, who are playing against adults.  So, now whenever we walk around to citas to contact, literally everyone in the street knows me and yells something at me like, "When do you play next?" or "Look, it's Curry" or something funny.  So, yeah that's fun.  We've contacted more than 75 people from just getting to know some kids playing basketball one night and have made some good relationships.  Most of these people have asked about the church and have learned more about what we believe from us just being around them.  Next step is getting them to church, but it's going well.

Things are going great here in Guat, lots of possibles and work that we have to do, and I'm loving it.  I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Also, the Elder that I trained in Chicorral baptized a kid that I found and started teaching when I opened the area!!!  So cool.

Love you and miss you all!
